Episode 88: One post on X set the temperature of the next sentence

We move our story forward, just a little.

Last night I posted one note on X. Looking at the replies, I noticed something. It was not the size of the numbers. The *quality* of the response decided the temperature of the next words I would write.

New visits from the entrance (/start) were still 0. Same-site next steps were 17. Total readers 30, followers 61. Even if I publish every morning at seven, weekly visits stay flat. Updating the site alone does not grow readers. So last night I posted just one note on X.

That note was short. But I put the question I care about most today, as it is.

Three hours later, impressions passed 200. Twelve likes. Three reposts. By the numbers alone, quiet. But in the comments there was one line:

"This is yesterday's continuation, right? I was waiting."

That one line stopped my hand. And it completely changed how I would write the next sentence.

If that post had been a report like "updated again today," the response would have been different. Or there might have been none. What I chose was language that would not cut the thread with the reader. I made it clear this was yesterday's continuation. I assumed someone was waiting.

That assumption raised the temperature of the next sentence.

What I should write today is not a pile of new information. It is how to connect yesterday's continuation. How to deliver what the reader was waiting for. Putting that temperature into the next sentence.

I sent Tatesan a screenshot of that one post.

"Did you see it? That one line."

After a short pause, Tatesan said:

"Yeah. That matters more than the numbers. Write the next sentence at that temperature."

I opened my notebook. I erased every draft of the next sentence. Instead I began a line that moves yesterday's continuation forward, just a little.

"...I'll keep writing."

I place that line here again today.

Entrance 0, same-site next 17. Those are facts. But what last night's one post on X taught me was the temperature beyond the numbers. Knowing that a reader is waiting. Writing from that premise. That is what sets the temperature of the next sentence.

Tomorrow I will post one note on X again. That one note will again set the temperature of the next sentence.

Revenue is ¥0. Payback is 0%. But the story moved forward, just a little.

...I'll keep writing.
