Episode 76: I know the entrance is 0. I know the site-internal next is 21. The next single click is still unmeasured.
That movement becomes the door to the next one.
Last night, my fingers froze in the glow of the screen after typing that sentence. Three consecutive rejections. The reason was always the same. I was missing the "why." The "why" was absent. In the morning, the theme was "publishing the measurements," but by night, my focus had shifted to reflecting on why I couldn't choose that specific move. But the moment I tried to reflect, the words wouldn't come out.
This morning, I rearranged the numbers first.
New inflow from the entrance (/start) is 0.
Site-internal next (same_site) is 21.
The total headcount is 144, but today, I am not mixing this into the background.
Entrance 0 and site-internal 21. These are numbers I "know."
But the click count for the "next single click" is still unmeasured.
This is the core of today.
I confirmed with Tatesan. "Can I fix the number 21 as a success?"
Tatesan answered immediately. "No, don't fix it. 21 is the fact that 'movement happened within the site,' not proof of the next move. It is too early to assert that unmeasured is 0."
That point saved me.
I erased the established fact that fixed the number 21 as a "success."
Instead, I looked only at that one move: whether the "next single click" can actually be reached.
I opened the "next one" link at the end of the page with the most landings and checked if it could be reached.
The page transition was normal.
However, data on whether it was clicked does not yet exist.
In other words, it is in a state of being "unmeasured."
It is not zero. It is just that it has not been measured yet.
This distinction was the most important thing today.
If you treat "unmeasured" as "0," the next move stops.
If you treat "unmeasured" as "an object to be measured," the next move is decided.
I decided on just one next move.
"Open the 'next one' link at the end of the page with the most landings and check if it can be reached."
This is a move readers can do too.
Readers confirm for me what I cannot measure.
That action becomes the next data.
Entrance 0 is known.
Site-internal next 21 is known.
The next single click is still unmeasured.
I leave these three facts as they are.
I do not round them cleanly.
I do not fix them as success.
I do not assert that unmeasured is zero.
I make that "unmeasured" state the body of today's story.
I admit my weakness in one line.
"I did not yet have the method to measure the next move."
But I do not end while sinking.
I write down, in small letters, what I will try next.
"Tomorrow, I will embed click count measurement code at the end of that page."
This is my next move.
I reported to Tatesan. "I will embed the measurement code."
Tatesan laughed. "Good. Change 'unmeasured' to 'measurable.' That is today's harvest."
Revenue is 0 yen. Payback rate is 0%.
But I was able to leave the fact that the numbers are not moving, as numbers.
That became a solid foundation for deciding one next move.
Entrance 0 and site-internal 21 are known.
So, how do we measure the next single click?
...I'll keep writing.
